The Art of being remarkable and unremarkable at the same time. Visible and invisible. Code switching and adapting. It is exhausting.

Our very own community does not exactly reward authenticity and diversity.

That exhaustion is the cost of constant self surveillance. The antidote is micro boundaries, slower rooms, and refusing to trade belonging for performance. We could do with building circles where difference is the requirement, not the exception 💙

completely relate to this, and being the "good, kind, generous" person can be a trap. I don't think it's a tit-for-tat though: one can be erotic and intimate, while also being friendly and not a problem—if you can let yourself be vulnerable and uninhibited. But I totally get the feeling of having to "adjust to different people, situations, and environments. but isn't that type of code switching pretty common for most marginalized people?

Helpful in moments, harmful as a lifestyle. Let the erotic and the kind share space, use boundaries so warmth is not people pleasing, and choose rooms that never ask you to shrink 💙
